Properties of natural wood
Our wooden garages are made from high-quality, FSC® C110730-certified dried and planed pine and spruce.
This quality wood is light in colour, with a smooth surface and only fine, subtle knots.
Because wood is a natural material , it responds to the weather — and that makes every building unique.
The natural character and movement of wood
Small cracks, splits or colour differences are not defects, but natural properties of solid wood.
Small gaps between the boards may also appear temporarily due to expansion or shrinkage caused by moisture and temperature.
When the wood is treated and impregnated correctly, this process stabilises by itself over time.
Natural dimensional tolerances
Because wood moves naturally, product dimensions may vary slightly (1–2 mm).
These minimal differences have no effect on the strength or durability of your wooden garage.
The importance of wood treatment
Over time, untreated wood may show blue staining of surface mould .
That is why it is essential to treat all wooden parts before assembly with a quality wood preservative.
Apply the preservative to all sides of the boards, so the wood is optimally protected against moisture, sun and mould.
Natural colour variation
It is normal for there to be small colour differences between individual boards.
Sunlight gradually evens out these shades, without any effect on the stability or quality of the product.
💡 With the right treatment, your wooden garage will stay sturdy, stable and naturally beautiful for years — just as high-quality wood is meant to.
Maintenance instructions – Wooden garage M105
Proper wood treatment is essential to extend the life of your wooden garage .
Over time, untreated wood may show blue staining of mould growth .
To prevent this, all wooden parts must be treated on all sides with a quality wood protector before assembling the product.
Only treat the wood when it is completely dry – treating or painting damp wood considerably increases the risk of mould.
We recommend repainting or re-impregnating the outside every 3 years , or more often if needed, depending on the weather.
Ventilation and protection against moisture
Proper ventilation is crucial to prevent moisture build-up in the wooden garage.
Make sure air can circulate freely and ventilate the interior regularly , especially in wet or cold periods.
This keeps the wood dry, healthy and stable.
Seasonal maintenance check
To ensure the life of your wooden garage, we recommend carrying out a thorough check at least once a season:
- Check for cracks or damaged wooden boards.
- Inspect the roofing for cracks, damage or openings where moisture could get in.
- Watch for signs of moisture build-up or mould inside the structure.
- Remove leaves, dirt or branches around the base of the garage to prevent moisture build-up and rot.
💡 With regular maintenance, proper wood treatment and good ventilation, your wooden garage will stay sturdy, attractive and protected from the weather for years.
